An informative, analytical and inspiring training day with Maddy Barnes about what we can learn from the 2022 reading and GaPS tests and the 2021-2022 moderation cycle for writing. The objectives are:
- To share an analysis of the 2022 KS1 and KS2 Reading tests and identify the main implications for teaching
- To share an analysis of the 2022 KS1 and KS2 GaPS tests and identify the main implications for teaching
- To share an analysis of the 2021-2022 writing moderation cycle and identify implications for all year groups
- To identify how we can prepare pupils to reach the expected standard and greater depth standard in reading and writing in 2023
- To engage readers and inspire writers by choosing high quality texts and related writing opportunities to prepare for the 2023 assessments
- To explore a variety of approaches used to embed GaPS within the everyday English lesson
- To examine different question types and the skills required to answer them
- To share the newest books that can support learning in the classroom
