Secondary NQT Induction Programme 2019-20

The Secondary NQT Programme has been created by St. James’s and Ladywood Teaching Schools in association with Bolton Learning Partnership and Bolton Local Authority. The Programme has been created in consultation with current NQTs and will be delivered by Lead Practitioners from Bolton Schools. Sessions vary between a full day, half days and a self-selecting twilight. Its purpose is to support NQTs throughout their induction year by focussing on Teachers’ Standards and priorities for Bolton.

The Programme comprises of:

NQT Session 1: Last Drop Village Hotel

Welcome Event Thursday 17th October 2019 (9:30am-3:30pm)

This event will consist of:

Welcome to Bolton Speech

  1. The opportunity to network with other NQTs
  2. Engaging Learners
  3. Creating a positive climate
  4. A snap shot of some of the Services available within Bolton
  1. An key note speech by Sumo

This will then be followed by a breakfast meeting, an afternoon session, and two twilights which will be based around the needs of the NQTs.

NQT Session 2: BSTC

Thursday 28th November – Breakfast meeting 8.00-10.00

The format of the afternoon will be:

  2. Developing all-inclusive practice

  2. Spring term 2019 – Wednesday 29th January 2020  – 2.00-4.00

NQT Session 4

Week commencing 23rd Mach 2020  –  4.00-5.45

Self-selected workshop based on their selected choices from the welcome event. NQTs will attend one session:

  1. Differentiation for EAL– Date tbc at Ladybridge High School
  2. or
  3. To be decided with the outcome of day 1

NQT Session 5 Time and Venue TBC

This event will consist of:

  1. The Road to RQT
  2. Presentation of Certificate
