Maddy, is an English Advisor and provides training for schools and alliances locally, nationally and internationally. She is passionate about ‘getting it right’ for children and has become a key part of our CPD offer here in Bolton.

This training day will cover the following:

• An analysis of the 2025 end of KS2 Reading and GaPS tests identifying the main implications for teaching.
• An overview of the optional 2025 KS1 reading and GaPS tests identifying the main implications for teaching.
• An analysis of the 2024-2025 end of KS2 writing moderation cycle to identify implications for all year groups.
• An update on developments at local and national level including the forthcoming DfE Writing Framework.
• A supported session focusing upon approaches to English monitoring and action planning in order to drive continued improvement.
