Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) Training

Led by:   Educational Psychology Service

The Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) programme is an evidence-informed, nationally recognised approach to supporting children and young people (from primary through to secondary) with a range social and emotional needs. This programme will take place over 5 days and offers two half-day supervision sessions. It is intended for teaching assistants and will:

  • develop their knowledgeand understanding of social and emotional needs;
  • enhance their skillsin being able to plan and implement a range of bespoke interventions and;
  • grow their confidencein being able to support vulnerable children and young people.

3.  Building Resilience and Self-Esteem (Part 1) 05 March 2025
4.  Building Resilience and Self-Esteem (Part 2) and Social skills 19 March 2025
5.  Supporting Children through Loss and Bereavement 02 April 2025

 

Two half-day supervision sessions facilitated by Educational Psychologists:

  • 14 May 2025
  • 25 June 2025

It is highly recommended that participants complete all 5 days of training and supervision sessions.
